Join Washington, DC based author & poet
Charisse Carney-Nunes and 2006 Cherry Blossom Festival Art Competition Winner
& illustrator, Ann Williams, in celebrating the release of Nappy (ISBN:
978-0-9748142-1-6 Brand Nu Words 2006), a humorous and delightfully
illustrated children's hardback based on the poem of the same title with a
book release party to include a special tribute to Civil Rights icon, Rosa
Parks, who died last week. Parks is one of ten African-American women
featured in the book. The celebration, which will be held at the historic
Thurgood Marshall Center for Service, 1816 12th Street, NW, Washington, DC,
will include free and fun activities for children, including storytelling,
moon bouncing, and face painting.
