ABOUT SELF-PUBLISHING
Dear Friends:
Self-publishing is more than a notion. Authors should think
long and hard before embarking down this path. It can be expensive; it's
easy (and costly) to make mistakes; and it is hard to gain the credibility
-- not to mention distribution, marketing & promotion that you need
to make your project a success. And if you are thinking about self-publishing
a book of poetry, you should not only think long and hard once -- you
should think long and hard 5 times before you move forward.
Countless friends, family, and acquaintances have asked
me for advice; so I decided to post some tips on my website where I can
easily refer people. As always, I am pressed for time, so I will start
with a few links. Over time, I plan to build this page.
Happy writing!!

Kwame is an excellent resource and known to all in the
DC/Baltimore area. I took his Do the Write Thing class and it was
well worth the money. He may be just consulting now. Yes. I could
have found all the info that he gave me on my own, but why? This was
efficient and it kept me on task (no small feat). Invest in your dreams. |

My friends call me the Queen of the Internet. I don't
know about that. But I found this handy little guide by surfing. It's
really helpful! |

This was NOT right for me. But it works for some, depending
on your goals as an author/publisher. |
