DON'T QUESTION A BLESSING

I've got battles to fight
Wrongs to right
Fancies to flight
And even riots to incite
But my grandmamma said, "Don't question a blessing."

I've got bills to pay
Mountains in my way
Majestic paths to survey
And mighty plans to obey
But my grandmamma said, "Don't question a blessing."

I've got mistakes to clean up
A life to construct
Outlined impervious strategies
Too pristine to disrupt
But my grandmamma said, "Don't question a blessing."
So divine intervention
Done hijacked my vision
Stole my definition
Of purpose and mission
Made off with my plans
And thieved my demands
On my future defined
And entrenched in my mind
And entrenched in my mind
And entrenched in my mind
But, damn, who am I?
Just a vessel for proof

of God's undying truth
and faith undenied
as life forms inside…

'Cause my grandmamma said, "Don't question a blessing."
